About

The Balmoral Crescent House is a striking yet subtle Hamptons inspired home, which is in in keeping with its bay setting. The clients wanted to build their family home in a traditional aesthetic but to have modern finishes and features, which would make their home energy sufficient to run. The light filled, contemporary home wraps around 8m x 3m in ground concrete pool surrounded by a large silver top decking area. The entry to the house features a 5.8m high turret, which offers a sneak peak to the grandeur of the house. The first zone comprises of a study, a large guest room with private ensuite, and formal lounge. At the heart of the house is the kitchen, dining & lounge area with 2 large sets of bi-fold doors, which open onto the pool deck, bringing the outdoors in for a relaxed entertaining area. The dining area houses the main turret, which features electric windows that brings in plenty of natural light. The final zone includes the large and lights filled master suite with floor to ceiling joinery, and a beautiful ensuite with freestanding bath and French doors opening to the pool deck. From the outside the Linea weatherboards, timber fret work, large gable and the 2 turrets give the house a harmonious and sculptural form, which reflects the relaxed warmth of the home. The installation of hydronic flooring, solar paneling and water tank makes the home highly energy efficient to run and reduces the impact on the environment, which was a requirement by the client. The team at Geelong Constructions is extremely pleased with the final outcome and we are very proud to have created this wonderful space, which enhances the streetscape and is built and designed for generations to enjoy.
